In 2015, I woke up from a wild dream and, without even lifting my head from the pillow, I just knew—mind, body, and soul—it was time to take a year-long sabbatical. It was one of those rare, full-body “this is it” moments.

Now, for someone like me, that was huge. I’ve always been a doer—constantly working, providing, and matching (if not surpassing) the energy around me. The idea of not working while my husband did? Unthinkable. Oh, did I have some learning to do.

At the end of 2014, I sold my brick-and-mortar business and used some of those funds to finance what I called “My Year of No,” which began on the first day of fall, 2015. Giving myself full permission to rest and reset, turned out to be the most transformative decision I’ve ever made; that is, until the next big decision in 2023. 😉

That year shaped the foundation for years of coaching entrepreneurial women who felt just as overwhelmed as I once did. My programs mirrored my own journey:

3. Emerge into Joy

In 2022, I dove deep into Jungian coaching, earning my certification while applying the work to my own life. I thought I was expanding my toolkit—but it ended up changing my entire path.

By 2023, I had released the fear of criticism and quieted my inner doubter. I stepped away from coaching and followed my curiosity into the world of art. Two years later, I’m painting freely—participated in my first large art show, and was juried into a gallery.

Here’s a little secret—I never actually wanted to be an artist. Instead of chasing specific goals or things, I spent years focusing on how I wanted to feel: relaxed, at peace, fully at home in my own body. Sometimes I even had to pretend my way there. And wouldn’t you know it—that’s when art found me!
