Pushing – Pleasing – Perfectionism

After decades of pushing hard, I learned the world had whispered in my ear that to be liked and accepted, I needed to prove myself, strive for perfectionism, accomplish a lot, people-please, and “do it all for everyone.”

All while keeping a smile on my face and juggling multiple responsibilities (exhausting).

I entered my forties struggling (albeit well-hidden) with self-doubt, anxiousness, overwhelm, burnout, and feeling that I wasn’t doing enough or good enough. Sound familiar?

Here’s Why…

The world has cultivated a culture of “pushing and perfectionism” – sending the message that to be successful (and accepted), women must fit into society and family culture and behave a certain way.

When we see the world from the perspective of past conditioning—we see through a smoke screen. This smoke screen skews a woman’s ability to prioritize Self and uphold their well-being with time, energy, and attention to focus on what matters most personally and professionally (without guilt).

(This is precisely what happened to me.)

Cultural and family conditioning masquerades as people-pleasing, self-comparison, caretaking, pushing, proving (striving to be seen and heard), anxiety, over-extending, and overwhelm.
