Everything and I mean everything is in constant motion.

Our emotions are constantly in motion. The planets are moving. The moon is waning and waxing. The plants grow and then they rest. Seasons move in and out.

Life is a constant ebb and flow.  Quiet – loud. Outgoing – withdrawn.
Tired – energetic.  Creative – not creative. Happy – sad.  Excited – indifferent.  Active – inactive.

The Flow for most brings emotions of happiness, vibrancy, creativity, excitement – the juices are flowing. You are in a groove, you are at ease, feeling balanced and then…the tide turns.

The Ebb is where many of us get in trouble. Not feeling happy – oh, this isn’t ‘right’. Not feeling energetic – what’s wrong with me?  Lost the creative edge – oh my, I’m SO stuck. Soon we have mixed all the ‘ebb’ emotions into one big cauldron that equals just the right ingredients to set off that internal voice that says once again “I need more balance in my life”.

Ah…but the ebb can be most powerful. If you tune in to ‘ebbing’, this is where the learning happens. When ebbing there is less motion. When there is less motion our minds are quieter allowing our emotions to surface. Our emotions are our guiding light.

  • What are you feeling?
  • Why are you feeling this way?
  • Why are you doing what you are doing?

When your emotional tide begins to ebb, don’t fight it. Trust that the flow is coming back and that the ebb is a time to reflect, slow down, be quiet, listen and to be extra kind to yourself.

There is such a thing as balance. Balance is embracing all aspects of life. Honoring the ebb and flow and recognizing and accepting that life is in constant motion.

How you choose to move through the twists and turns, ups and downs, ebbs and flows is entirely in your powerful hands.
